| In the context of an aging society,frailty,a prevalent geriatric syndrome,exhibits a particularly pronounced interplay with atrial fibrillation.Accumulating research consistently confirms that frailty serves not only as an independent risk factor for atrial fibrillation but also correlates significantly with clinical prognosis,thereby notably influencing decisions regarding anticoagulation therapy.This paper delves into the intricate association between these entities,exploring the potential impacts of biological mechanisms such as inflammation and autonomic imbalance on this relationship.Simultaneously,it highlights the limitations of current frailty assessment tools while underscoring the criticality of biomarkers.Furthermore,novel perspectives for future research are proposed,aiming to furnish more precise personalized treatment strategies for elderly atrial fibrillation patients,thereby promoting healthy aging initiatives. |
